Hi, we're Maureen, Bernie and Bernadette -- a warm, loving family who are eager to grow through adoption. We've been happily married for over 20 years and always knew we wanted to have children, because we both grew up in large, close families. In June 2001, our prayers of becoming parents were answered. Bernadette is a sweet, affectionate little girl, and gives us so much joy every day. We want to share our love with a second child and we want Bernadette to experience the joy of being a big sister. We admire your courage to consider placing your baby for adoption, and we want to assure you that we will provide a loving, nurturing home for your baby.

About Maureen and Bernie

We are both the second oldest of four children and were raised in homes filled with love and laughter. Our parents made sacrifices so that we could have the best education possible, and all of our brothers and sisters went to college and several went on to graduate school. After we got married, Bernie went to graduate business school part-time at night, and would not have been able to get his MBA degree without Maureen’s love and support.


We are financially secure and look forward to giving our children the best possible education and lots of encouragement to fully develop their talents and potential. Bernie is head of public relations for a large insurance company, which involves doing a lot of writing. Maureen has worked for many years as an accountant and plans to be a stay-at-home mom when we adopt our second child.


Bernie plays the piano and we love to sing songs and play music with Bernadette. We love theater, sports and travel, and we look forward to sharing with our children all the good things that life has to offer.

Where we live


We bought our large, comfortable home 14 years ago and spent a lot of time lovingly restoring it and making it ready for a family. We remodeled our kitchen so we can eat our meals looking out at the beautiful dogwood trees in our backyard.


In the summer we like to have cookouts with our family and friends. Our backyard is filled with Bernadette's toys and she loves to play with her cousins and friends. We also enjoy regular trips to nearby beaches and pools.


Our home is in a pretty neighborhood located in one of the best school districts in the state. In addition to great schools, our town is also known for its well-kept parks. We live a few blocks from our church and from a school with a great playground and a track where Bernie likes to run. There are many young families on our block and there are always lots of children around.

A warm, loving family


Our parents live close to us and Bernadette spends lots of time with her loving grandparents. Bernadette also gets to spend a lot of time with her 20 first cousins, because most of our brothers and sisters also live nearby. Our families are very excited and supportive of our plans to adopt again. We're also lucky to have many close friends who can’t wait to welcome another baby and to help out.


Above all, the new baby coming to our home will be treasured and loved. We want the chance to give our unconditional love to another child. We also believe it is very important to have siblings, and we want Bernadette to have the chance to be a big sister and share her love with a new baby.
